John Rogers, 28, of Hartford was arrested early Friday after troopers observed him traveling at a high rate of speed in the stolen vehicle, said Trooper Kelly Grant.
Troopers used laser and clocked the vehicle’s speed at 88 mph in a 55 mph zone. Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, Rogers refused to stop, Grant said.
During the chase, Rogers rammed into two state police vehicles before being stopped when an officer with the Old Lyme Police Department deployed stop sticks which disabled the vehicle, however, Rogers continued driving before eventually being stopped by troopers, Grant said.
Rogers, who was on parole, was remanded to the custody to the Department of Corrections on $100,000 on numerous charges.
His passenger, Staci Trudeau, 34, of Moosup, reportedly stole the vehicle. She was charged with larceny and released on $5,000 bond with a court date of July 20.
